Youth Committee
Our Mission
-
Enable students to become responsible, active citizens, and understand their community by connecting the past to the present.

Enhance Local History education according to the Ontario Curriculum.

Encourage youth and kids to develop disciplinary thinking to investigate issues and events based on local history and develop a sense of “who came before us” and, “how have we changed over the years”.

Popularize and promote historical knowledge and cultural relic protection knowledge among young people.

Attract more young people to participate
What We Do
With NYHS as our roots, our goal is to provide a platform for youth to express their interest in history and provide
extra resources for history teachers in the area. The NYHS Youth Committee has decided to organize the following
projects and events to support our goal:
